Small-pox.
The outbreak of Small-pox, which began in the autumn
of 1901, continued during- the first seven months of 1902; five
cases were notified in August, and the last case of the year
occurred in the fourth week in September. During 1902, 169
cases occurred, of which 25 were fatal. The whole outbreak
is fully discussed in a later part of this Report.
The following table gives the age distribution of the cases notified, and of the fatal cases :—

In the sub-districts, the number of cases per 1,000
population was as follows East Battersea, 7*20; North-West
Battersea, 3.84; South-West Battersea, 4*30. The number
of cases per 1,000 population in the County of London was
3-9, and the death-rate 0-12.
