January.—The weather was wet and cold until the 9th. From
then until the end of the month it was warm, the temperature
being above the average. The atmospheric pressure was above the
average, the first half of the month the mean daily excess being
0.08 inches. From January 16th to the end of the month it was
generally below its average, the mean daily deficiency being 0.16
inches. Rain fell on twenty-five days, the total amount being
3.05 inches.
