Until of late years the deaths in the district were to a certain
extent a matter of calculation from the returns of the Registrar
General, but a few years since an arrangement was made with a
gentleman at Somerset House to supply to all the Vestries and
Parishes a copy of the death returns in the hospitals and various
public institutions. I am able, therefore, now to present an
