in outlying institutions, it gives us a total of 57, which
is equal to a Zymotic death-rate of 2.7 per 1,000 per
annum.
The number of notifications of dangerous infectious
diseases received during the year is recorded in
Table V. The total number was 164. Compared with
the year 1895, when the notifications only amounted to
80, or the year 1894 when they amounted to 127, it
will be seen that epidemic disease has prevailed throughout
the year to a much greater extent than we have
been accustomed to.
