In comparing the death-rate of Camberwell with those
of other districts in South London, I have given the Registrar-
General's estimate of the rate, to bring it into uniformity with
those of the other districts. As I noted above, these are all
probably under estimated.
It will be noticed that the forms of tables prepared this
year are different to those in previous reports, the chief
variation being the different classification of diseases by the
Local Government Board. These now so closely approach
the forms used for so many years in Camberwell that it is no
longer necessary for me to give the latter as a comparison with
the prevalence of disease in previous years, for this can be
readily made from the classification adopted by the Local
Government Board. There are, however, one or two points in
the tables to which I shall presently draw attention.
