It will be convenient for reference to enumerate the articles usually sampled
under the Sale of Food and Drugs Acts, they are:—milk and butter; coffee,
pepper, and mustard; bread, sugar, confectionery and jam; lard, arrowroot,
olive oil, vinegar, lime juice, and cocoa; ginger, oatmeal, cheese, yeast, and
preserved peas; sulphur (milk of), cream of tartar, sweet spirit of nitre,
laudanum, rhubarb, and beeswax; wines, beers, and spirits.
