The number of residents in the Buildings in 1896 was
196, viz.: 146 adults, 25 children under 5 years, and
25 under 10 years.
There were 7 births, equal to a birth-rate of 35.7 per
1,000.
The only death was that of a male, set. 41, from
"aneurism," this corresponded to an annual death-rate of
5.1 per 1,000.
The Buildings were free from infectious disease
throughout the year.
