1. Includes smallpox, measles, scarlet fever, diphtheria,
whoofing-cough, typhus, enteric (or typhoid) and
simple continued fevers and diarrhœa.
* 14 of these deaths occurred in hospitals outside
the District.
3. Includes phthisis, scrofula, tuberculosis, rickets, and
tabes.
4. Includes marasmas, atrofhy, debility, want of breast
milk, and premature birth.
5. Includes hydrocephalus, infantile meningitis,
sions, and teething.
