Roads.
The following Roads were declared public highways:—
Glenwood Road.
Rangemore Road.
Cape Road.
Townsend Road.
Asplin's Road.
Vincent Road.
Park Road (part of.)
Winchelsea Road.
Seaford Road.
Forster Road.
Lincoln Road.
Total length about 2 miles.
Total cost nearly £14,000.
Watering the Roads took place 147 days during the year.
Permanganate of Potash was used in the water carts as a deodorant
and disinfectant throughout the summer, and was most successful.
There are now 8 roads in the hands of the contractors, and 36
more under the consideration of your Board.
Sewers.
The following Sewers have been laid during the year:—
1,000 feet of 12in. pipes.
560 feet of 9in. pipes.
3,000 feet of 6in. pipes have been used in making 200 connections
to the Sewers.
Surface Water Drains.
The following Surface Water Drains were laid:—
90 feet of 15in. pipes.
860 feet of 12in. pipes.
1,240 feet of 9in. pipes.
4,000 feet of 4in. pipes were used in making 300 connections to
the Surface Water Drains.
