Fever Statistics.—At the end of 1893 there were
3,270 fever patients in the various Hospitals. During
1894, 16,667 patients were admitted, 15,426 discharged,
and 1,999 died. The case mortality for the
year was 11.73 per cent., compared with 10.53 for

recorded in November, and the smallest in February.
The admissions of Scarlet Fever cases constituted
62.9 per cent. of the notifications; of Diphtheria
32.8, and of Enteric Fever 15.9. The percentages of
admissions to notifications show increases for the
first two diseases, but not for Enteric Fever. See
appended statement.
