The Parish of Lambeth contains 4,059 statute acres,
inclusive of 79 tidal water and 39 foreshore, with an
*estimated population of 284,885 persons to the middle of
the year 1895. The total estimated increase of the population
is 2,308, but the "natural increment"—i.e., the excess
of births over deaths is 3,782, so that we must assume an
exodus of 1,474 in excess of those who came into the Parish
during the year.
The estimated number of inhabited houses to the middle
of the year 1895 is 39,895, and the rateable value of the
Parish on April 6th, 1895, was .£1,575,325, an increase of
£6,512 on the previous year, as the following Table
shews:—
