WOOD PAVING.
KING STREET.
{between Broadway and Shaftesbury Road.)
The yellow deal paving laid in 1885 was taken up
and the road repaved with Sin. by 9in. by 3in. Jarrahdale
Jarrah wood blocks. The wood was purchased direct;
from the importers as it was considered that a saving
could be effected, and the Vestry having purchased the
necessary plant, a part of the deals were sawn into blocks
by the Vestry's own workmen.
