Medical Aid.
In accordance with the Rules of the Central Midwives' Board
a midwife must notify the Local Supervising Authority forthwith
on every occasion in which she sends for medical aid. Two hundred
and sixteen such notifications were received.
Fees paid to Doctors.
One hundred and eighty accounts were received from
general medical practitioners for assistance rendered to midwives
under the provisions of the Medical Practitioners (Fees) Regulations,
1940. The total amount paid to medical practitioners during the
year was £380 9s. 6d.
SECTION 24
HEALTH VISITING.
Health Visitors.
During the year the Health Visitors have made 10,923 visits
to homes, as follows:—
(a) To expectant mothers:—
First visits 40

(b) To children under 1 year of age:—
