BIRTHS.
During the year there were 2,292 births registered, being an increase
of 68, and consisting of 1,200 males and 1,092 females.
The birth-rate is 30.5 per thousand, the rate in 1894 being 31.7
per thousand.
There were 81 births in the Union Workhouse.

INCREASE.
The annual increase, or, excess of births over deaths is 760,
the average for the past 5 years being 899.
The total increase for the past 5 years is 4,497.
