In the St. John and St. Margaret's area, the Health Society has two
midwives. The Society also does the out-patient maternity work of
Charing Cross Hospital, and has two midwives for this object.

The Greek Street midwives also attended 39 Cliaring Cross Hospital
cases in Holborn.
The midwives at the Rochester Row Centre attend there once a
week to interview expectant mothers.
The midwives at tie Greek Street Centre attend the classes at
Charing Cross Hospital and an arrangement has been come to between the
Health Society and Westminster Hospital for co-operation in their outdoor
cases. A similar scheme is under consideration for linking up
the extra cases at St. George's Hospital with the midwife employed by
the Council.
Maternity Wards are now available in St. George's, Charing Cross
and Westminster Hospitals. By an agreement between the Council and
St. George's Hospital a grant of £3 is paid for each case admitted on a
recommendation from the Pimlico and Bessborough Street Centres.
Confinements took place during the year in these Institutions as
follows:—
Charing Cross Hospital: 74, of which 24 were Westminster cases.
St. George's Hospital: 223, of which 63 were Westminster cases.
Westminster Hospital: 23, of which 10 were Westminster cases.
