Maternity and Child Welfare.
Expectant Mothers.—The names of 1,012 were sent in by hospitals,
voluntarily notified or found by visitors, and to these 2,908 visits were
paid at their homes (see Table); 163 attended the Mothercraft Classes.
Ante-natal Clinics.—145 women attended for the first time in 1924.

There were 306 attendances altogether of expectant mothers at the two centres. In 1923, the attendances were 247.

146 women also attended the Clinic at Bessborough Street after
confinement.
Clinics are also held at Charing Cross, St. George's, and Westminster
Hospitals.
Mothercraft Classes.—These exist at each Centre and are attended
by mothers both before and after confinement.
Notwithstanding the decrease in the number of births, the attendances
at the Council's Centres show an increased attendance by the mothers.
