(d) Particulars of each case in which the Regulations have

3. Thickening Substances.
Any evidence of their addition to cream or preserved
cream. Action taken where found Nil.
4. Other Observations.
In all cases where a contravention of the Regulations
has occurred, the Council has, in accordance with
Article 6 of the Regulations, afforded the Vendor an
opportunity of furnishing an explanation in writing.
All samples of milk taken for analysis under the Sale of Food
and Drugs Acts are examined for preservatives. During the
year no sample was found to contain preservative.

SALE OF FOOD AND DRUGS ACTS.
Yead ended 31st December. 1924.
During the twelve months ended on that date 614 samples
were submitted to me for examination. Of these, 600 were
purchased under the provisions of the Sale of Food and
Drugs Acts, 12 under the Public Health (Milk and Cream)
Regulations, 1 sample of water and 1 of soda water.
In Table I are given the numbers of samples received
under the Sale of Food and Drugs Acts during the several
quarters of the year, together with the numbers classified as
genuine, inferior, and adulterated.
Of the total number examined 508 were reported as
genuine, 14 as adulterated, whilst 58 were of inferior quality.
