The percentage of adulteration was 5.7 as compared with
6.1 last year. The percentage of articles of inferior quality,
where actual adulteration could not be certified, was 9.7 this
year and 9.0 last year.
In Table II will be found a statement of the number and
nature of the various articles examined during the year,
together with particulars of the prosecutions which were
instituted.

Milk.—During the year 438 samples of milk were examined
and of these 362 were reported as genuine. 58 as inferior, and
