Report on the sanitary condition of the City of London for the year 1899

Up to the end of the year the following list of samples, referred to on page 170, had been collected for the Preservatives Committee, and forwarded to the Government Laboratories, viz.:—
Cheese | 8 samples. |
Condensed Milk | 6 „ |
Bacon | 6 „ |
Potted Meats | 6 „ |
Tinned Rabbit | 1 „ |
Preserved Fruits | 5 „ |
Beer | 4 „ |
Wine | 2 „ |
Lard | 1 „ |
Total | 39 samples. |
All these had arrived in this country from
various Foreign and Colonial ports.
In a Report recently presented to the Sanitary
Committee I referred in detail to some circular
letters issued by the Board of Agriculture,
respecting the Food and Drugs Act, 1899.
