"I left a further list of consignees with Dr. Saunders
"yesterday, and shall continue to send such lists as
"I receive, he, on his part, promising to give them
"such prompt attention as is possible.
"I am,
"Yours faithfully,
"CHAS. J. HUDDART."
"Local Government Board,
"Whitehall, S.W.
19th October, 1899.
"Dear Dr. Saunders,
"I will ask that the name of ship and the port of
"departure be included in the list of consignees as far
"as possible. We shall be glad of a sample of the
"tinned rabbits; but, without express sanction of my
"Committee, I think it will be well that no such sum
"as you mention, namely, 10s., be paid for any sample
"desired. I am only sorry that you should find such
"difficulty as is experienced in procuring samples, but I
"am confident that all that can be done is being done by
"your Inspectorate.
"I am,
"Yours faithfully,
"CHAS. J. HUDDART,
"Secretary to the Preservatives Committee.''
