The seizures for the past year having been
nearly 20 times as heavy as in 1871, hence the
necessity for a careful inspection is greater now
than ever it was before.

DISPOSAL OF CONDEMNED MEAT
The 1,172 tons 5 cwts. 2 qrs. of condemned
meat was disposed of to the same firm that has
held the contract for many years. The amount
received for it was £2,735 7s. 3d. as
compared with £2,059 2s. 5d. in 1898,
£2,392 3s. 6d. in 1897, £2,352 4s. 4d.
