SANITARY WORK GENERALLY.
Nuisances have been dealt with by the Sanitary
Inspector as they have arisen. They were mostly due
to overcrowding, smoke, foul ditches, and stagnant
water, animals kept near to dwelling houses, accumulations
of refuse, dampness, non-removal of dust, and blocking
of house drains and closets. Fifty-nine premises were
inspected in connection with infectious diseases, and 23
on complaint of nuisances; 55 cautionary notices were
given, and 8 statutory orders issued; 27 caravans were
moved on ; 39 rooms were disinfected.
