FOOTWAY PAVING.
The amount paid the Contractor for footway paving- was
£1753 13s. 5d. for the year, as follows :—
Pownall Road—the whole of the footways paved
with new 3-in. York £919 9 10
High Street, Shoreditch (portion of the east side)
—repaved with new 3-in. York 84 19 5
Batemans Row (portions) relaid 7 3 9
Chapel Street (portions) relaid 6 7 8
jFinshury Market—paved with new 3-in. York 44 5 1
Finshury Avenue—paved with new 3-in. York 581 4 4
John Street, Holywell Mount (west side)—paved with
new 3-in. York 28 8 0
Canning Terrace, Whitmore Road—paved with new
2½-in. York 81 15 4
There are three masons employed in repairing the paved footways
(the time of one is nearly taken up in repairing trenches), and their
wages amounted to £372 7s. 2d. for the year, and the sum of
£193 4s. 7d. was contributed for repairing trenches.
One man has been employed in dressing old stone, as follows : —
273½ yards super York Edging.
114 „ „ Granite Cubes.
113 feet „ Moor Stone.
2137 „ run Curb.
888 ,, ,, Channel Stones,
at a cost of £134 16s.
SEWERS WORK.
The following sewers works have been executed during the year,
at a total cost of £201 2s. 4d.
Wilkes Place (reconstruction) — 172-ft. run 12-in. pipe 43 6 6
