Three flushers have been employed in cleansing, flushing, and
keeping in repair the sewers in the Parish, and the amount paid them
was £269 4s. 8d. for the year. The wages of the one man employed
in cleansing the Urinals, for the year, was £54 18s. 2d.
The number of Public Lamps in the Parish on the 25th March,
187G, was 1158, and the cost of Lighting for the year was
£4825 17s. 2d.
The number of Gullies in the Parish is 2092.

As regards the general condition of the Parish, I beg to state
that the carriageway paving (with one or two exceptions) is in very
good order. The following places must, before very long, be re-paved.
Hoxton Street (portions of) New North Street
Holywell Lane Saint John's Road
and Clifton Street.
The footway paving (exceptin very few instances) is in very
good order.
The condition of the Sewers is also satisfactory, except in the
following places :—
Great James Street Turners Square
Nile Street Moneyer Street
Union Street Provost Street
Allerton Street.
