The whole of the trees are now maintained by
the Vestry.
CLEANSING OF STREETS.
Footways, Courts, &c.—The day gang of sweepers
consists of 5 of the oldest of the scavengers.
Temporary Sweeping Gang.—A temporary gang
of sweepers was omployod on a few occasions, the
wages of which was £29 0s. 1d.
The night gangs remain the same as the previous
year, viz., 22 scavengers and 2 horse brooms. The
number of loads of street sweepings removed was
6,333, of which 489 were collected on Sunday
mornings. The average number of horses employod
was 10.50 per day, including these with the brooms.
