In each year, a number of the deaths of the parishioners takes
place in general and special Hospitals, In former years, the
number of these has always been calculated, by estimating the
proportion of them from the known number occurring in all the
hospitals of the metropolis, in relation to the number of
inhabitants. But this year, I have obtained the exact number
from the official returns; it is 113. As the deaths occurring in
Workhouse and the Infirmary are not registered in the Parish,
these must be added to complete the total mortality. The number
of deaths in the Workhouses referable to Clerkenwell amounted
to 58; in the Infirmary to 83; and in the Hospitals of the
Asylums Board to 17.
