INSPECTOR'S REPORT,
For the Quarter ending 25th Dec., 1882.
February, 1883.
To the Vestry of the Parish of Clerkenwell.
Gentlemen,
I beg most respectfully to report that
during the quarter ending Christmas, I have taken to
Dr. Redwood, the Analyst, 22 samples consisting of
Mustard, Pepper, Coffee, Sweets, Oatmeal, Milk, and
Vinegar, three of which have been found to be adulterated,
the sellers have been summoned by me to the
Clerkenwell Police Court and fined as follows :—
Mr. Bradley, of Penton Street, was summoned to
the Clerkenwell Police Court for selling Milk adulterated
to the extent of 19 per cent. of added water,
and fined 20s. and costs.
Mr. Kempson, Penton Dairy, White Lion Street,
for 21 per cent. of added water, was fined 20s. and
costs.
Mr. James, Lloyds Row, dairyman, for 18 per cent.
of added water, was fined 20s. and costs.
