The number of milch cows, in the district at the close of the year
was 113, a decrease of 30 upon the number of last year.
Two persons have been registered during the year, both as
purveyors of milk in this district.
The improved condition of the dairy cows reported at the close
of 1913 has been maintained during the past year.
During the year bills were posted in various parts of the district
calling the attention of persons interested, to the requisition of the
above Orders with regard to registration, and the penalty if found
carrying on these trades without registration.
The power provided under the Public Health Acts Amendment
Act, 1907, requiring dairymen to furnish lists of the sources of their
supply was not enforced during the year.

The following works have been requested to be carried out with respect to premises used by registered persons:—

CLEANSING DEPARTMENT.
The Collection and Disposal of Refuse.
During the year approximately 3,289 tons of refuse was
collected.
During the year 30 galvainised-iron sanitary dust-bins have been
provided in place of defective ones.
It is the general practice for the dustmen to report any premises
without a proper receptacle for refuse, when the matter is investigated
and the proper notice served.
Disinfectant powder is carried on all the dust carts for use if
necessary after the refuse receptacles have been emptied of their
