Births.
The number registered during the year amounted
to 915 (439 males, 476 females); of this number 24
were illegitimate. The birth rate was 25.43, compared
with 25.15 for 1906 and 28.55 per thousand for
1905. That for London was 25.8 and the 76 great
towns 27.5. The natural increase of population was
501 against 441 for the year 1906.
Deaths.
The total number of deaths in the District was
339 (148 males and 191 females) against 361 for 1906
and 437 for 1905. The number of deaths registered
outside the District was 88; in addition there were
13 deaths of non-residents registered, eight of these
occurring in St. Joseph's Hospital for Incurables.
The death rate—calculated upon the total number
of deaths of parishioners, viz., 339, plus the 88 who
died beyond the District, but less the 13 non-residents
registered in the District, making 414—was ll.50
of the total population. That of London was 14.6
and for the 76 principal towns 15.7.
Infantile Death Rate,
Being that of children under a year, was equal to
119T per thousand registered births, compared with
115.2 for 1906 and 107.7 for 1905. For London it
was 115 and for the 76 principal towns 131.
Senility or Old Age.
102 Persons attained the age of 65 and upwards;
this number included 10 septuagenarians, 25 octogenarians,
and five attained the age of 90 and
upwards.
