Chiswick Urban District Council.
Public Health Department,
Town Hall, Chiswick, W.
To the Chairman and Members of the Chiswick
Urban District Council.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you my
Thirtieth Annual Report on the health and sanitary
conditions of this Parish. I wish to again acknowledge
the help and support which have been accorded
me both by the Chairman and members of the
Public Health Committee, and I have also to tender
my thanks to the members of my Staff for their
assistance and support during the year. Whatever
there is to record is due to a large extent to the
thoroughness and efficiency with which their duties
have been discharged, also to the zeal with which
they have aided every effort to improve generally the
sanitary conditions of the District.
Vital Statistics.
For the purposes of statistics, the population is
estimated for the middle of the year. At the last
census, taken on 1st April, 1901, our population was
29,809. Calculating that the rate of increase has
been more than maintained, the population at the
middle of 1907 may be approximately estimated at
35,970, and on these figures my statistics are based.
