BOUNDARY ROW.
The old boundary sewer on the south side of this thoroughfare
in rear of the houses was jointly abolished by the Vestry of
St. George-the-Martyr and ourselves.
BROADWALL BOUNDARY SEWER.
The matter of this sewer has at last been dealt with by the
Lambeth Vestry. The question of its abolition was first raised
in 1892. Some years ago we disconnected and diverted the
whole of the drainage from Broadwall from this sewer into our
low level sewer under the carriageway of Broadwall, and since
then have been waiting for the Lambeth Vestry to co-operate
with us in filling up the sewer. They have recently, without giving
us any notice or explanation, or informing us of their intention,
filled up or piped the sewer in which we have now no further
interest.
BANKSIDE.
A portion of old high level sewer which ran parallel to
Bankside in rear of the warehouses between Rose Alley and Bear
Garden has been abolished and the drainage diverted.
BRIDGE PLACE.
A large brick sewer in rear of the above place has been
broken up and abolished. This sewer was on premises belonging
to Messrs. Barclay, Perkins & Co., and new drainage arrangements
have been made.
UNDERGROUND LAVATORIES.
The woodwork at Lavatory No. 1 has been varnished and
the painting work cleansed, and at Lavatory No. 2 the whole of
the ironwork was repainted.
