abolished.
JANE STREET.
.Anew 12 inch stoneware sewer has been liad in this street
with a fall of 1 foot in 167 from the sewer in Collingwood Street
to the main low level sewer in Broadwall into which it dis-
charges, this sewer which is laid on and surrounded with
concrete, replaces a very defective pipe sewer with clay joints
which formerly existed. A manhole is constructed on the sewer.
The length of the new sewer is 250 feet.
ISABELLA STREET.
A new 12 inch stoneware pipe sewer has been laid in this
street; this also runs from Collingwood Street to Broadwall
and discharges into the main brick sewer in the latter street.
The new sewer is 280 feet in length and has a fall of 1 foot in
155. A manhole is also constructed on the sewer.
RED CROSS STREET.
Four new manholes have been constructed on this sewer,
one each at the junction of Red Cross Street with the following
places, viz. :—
Red Cross Place.
George Yard.
Adams Place.
Falcon Court.
The pipe sewer in Bed Cross Street was laid fourteen years
ago and no manholes were at that time provided at the junctions
with the four streets named. Flushing boxes have also been constructed
at the upper ends of the 12 inch pipe sewers in the
streets referred to.
HOLLAND STREET.
A new side entrance has been constructed on the main brick
sewer in this street at the corner of Ridler Place. This was much
needed as the distance between the two nearest side entrances
was too great to be safely travelled in the sewer at all times.
