[Report of the Medical Officer of Health for St James's, Westminster]

during the months of April and May, 1895. The labour
devolving upon the Valuation Committee was much more
arduous than in previous years by reason of the fact that
measurements were taken and comparisons made of the
large freehold houses and premises in the Parish. The
re-valuation of the Parish by the Overseers resulted in an
increase of £51,952 gross, and £40,856 rateable on the
value in force on the (Jtli April, 1895. Several appeals
were made to Special and Quarter Sessions, the result of
the several appeals being as follows :—
