Mr. Thomas Hensman Munsey, chief clerk to the Vestry
of Islington, has been appointed Vestry Clerk in succession
to Mr. Wilkins. Mr. Munsey was previously in the
service of the Vestry, as First Assistant Clerk, from 1885
to 1889, in which latter year he left to take up the
appointment at Islington.
Vestry Clerk's Department.—The salary of Mr.
Chettleburgh, first assistant clerk, has been increased from
£150 to £180 per annum; that of Mr. Crow, accounts,
rates, and general clerk, from £170 to £190; that of Mr.
Lampard, third assistant clerk, from £100 to £120; and
that of Mr. Born, junior clerk, from £20 to £30; all the
increases to take effect from Lady Day, 1894.
Sanitary Department,—The Vestry have found it
necessary to engage a clerk to assist in the clerical work of
the Sanitary and Surveyor's Departments, and they have
accordingly appointed Mr. T. H. Hooper to the post, at a
salary of £80 per annum.
The salary of the public analyst, Dr. Edmunds, has been
increased from £75 to £100 per annum; while that of the
chief sanitary inspector, Mr. W. H. Watson, has been raised
from £165 to £175 par annum, both these increases to take
effect from the 25th March, 1894.
In the early part of the year the salary of Mr. Folland,
sanitary inspector, was increased from £120 to £140 per
annum.
Rate Collectors.—Mr. George Flint, of 18, Warwick,
Street, has been appointed rate collector for the Pall Mall
Ward, in the place of Mr. F. A. Ashmead, whose resignation
was reported in the last annual report.
