The number of deaths from the seven principal
preventable (zymotic) diseases was 126, as compared
with 92 in the corresponding quarter of last year, and
was equivalent to an annual rate of 4.2 per 1,000
inhabitants, as compared with 3.1 in the corresponding
quarter of last year. In London the zymotic deathrate
was equivalent to an annual rate of 4.52 per 1,000
inhabitants, as compared with 3.31 in the corresponding
