XXVIII. Immigration of Pauper Aliens.
The necessity of steps being taken by Her
Majesty's Government to stop the “ Immigration of
Pauper Aliens " in order to minimise the possibility
of the importation of Cholera has been recognised
by several Yestries in the Metropolis, and
representations have been made to that effect. The
following resolution was passed by the Yestry :—
“That this Yestry is of opinion that the free
immigration of destitute aliens constitutes a source
of danger as regards Cholera infection, and considers
the present is an opportune moment to urge
upon the Government the necessity of taking steps
to stop the entry of such aliens into this country."
XXIX. Public Lavatory Accommodation.
The New Public Lavatory in the Harrow Road
at the Junction of Walterton Road and Elgin
Avenue, was opened by the Chairman of the Works
Committee on 13th October, 1892.
This Lavatory provides accommodation for both
men and women, as under :—
Men 14 Urinals ; 5 W.C's.
Women—4 W.C's.
3 Wash basins for men; 2 for women.
