The effect of the increase on the Quinquennial
Re-assossment has been to reduce the Rate for the
year about 13/4. in tho £.
Appeals against the Valuation Lists of various
Parishes and Unions have been made by the London
County Council, and considerable expense incurred
thereby. The Council has not taken any action
with reference to the Assessment of this Parish,
which may be regarded as evidence of the satisfactory
manner in which the Overseers and
Assessment Committee have carried out their very
onerous and complicated duties.
XXXI, Public Libraries Acts.
On the 17th March, 1891, a Deputation waited
upon the Vestry and presented a Memorial asking
that the proper stops might be taken for submitting
to a vote of the Burgesses the adoption of the Public
Libraries Acts.
