Deducting from the total deaths (521) those of 92 nonparishioners—82
in St. Mary's Hospital, 9 in the Children's
Hospital, and 1 in the Lock Hospital —the corrected number of
deaths of parishioners in the parish is seen to be 429. To this
number must be added the deaths of 21 parishioners in extraparochial
hospitals and institutions within the Metropolis during
the same period, making a total of 450 deaths—209 males
and 241 females—equivalent to an annual death-rate of 15.7
per 1,000 inhabitants.
The number of births and deaths, together with the birth
and death-rates in the parish, and in its two sub-districts, during
the quarter, is shown in the subjoined table:—
