Deducting from the total deaths (455) those of 71 nonparishioners—68
in St. Mary's Hospital and 3 in the Children's
Hospital —the corrected number of deaths of parishioners in the
parish is seen to be 384. To this number must be added the
deaths of 20 parishioners in extra-parochial hospitals and institutions
within the Metropolis during the same period, making a
total of 404 deaths—206 males and 198 females—equivalent
to an annual death-rate of 14.1 per 1,000 inhabitants.
The number of births and deaths, together with the birth
and death-rates in the parish, and in its two sub-districts, during
the quarter, is shown in the subjoined table : —
