Deducting from the total deaths (469) those of 70 nonparishioners—64
in St. Mary's Hospital, 11 in the Children's
Hospital, Paddington Green, and 1 in the Lock Hospital —
the corrected number of deaths in the parish is seen to be
393. To this number must be added the deaths of 9
parishioners in extra-parochial hospitals and institutions, within
the Metropolis during the same period, making a total of 402
deaths — 194 males and 208 females—equivalent to an
annual death-rate of 14.4 per 1,000 inhabitants.
The number of births and deaths, together with the birth
and death-rates in the parish, and in its two sub-districts, during
the quarter is shown in the subjoined table:—
