During the 13 weeks ending July 2nd, 1887, being the
second quarter of the registration year, 711 births and 469 deaths
were registered in Paddington. Of the 711 births, comprising
369 male and 342 female children, 580 occurred in St. Mary's,
and 131 in St. John's Sub-district. The 711 births were equivalent
to an annual rate of 25.1 per 1,000 of the estimated
population of the parish. In London the births were equivalent
to an annual rate of 31.5 per 1,000.
