Deducting from the total deaths (492) those of 52 nonparishioners—39
in St. Mary's Hospital, and 13 in the Children's
Hospital, Paddington Green —the corrected number of deaths in
the parish is seen to be 440. To this number must be added
the deaths of 18 parishioners in extra-parochial hospitals
institutions, &c., within the Metropolis during the same period,
making a total of 458 deaths — 230 male and 228 female-
equivalent to an annual death-rate of 16.2 per 1,000 inhabitants.
The number of births and of deaths, together with the birth
and death-rates in the parish, and in its two sub-districts, during
the quarter is shown in the subjoined table: —
