The foregoing is a short epitome of the somewhat
complicated schemes of this Company, which, I trust,
may be of use in assisting a clear comprehension of the
whole subject of the East Dulwich Tramways, proposed
communications.
Memo :—Nos. 2 to 6 inclusive have been withdrawn.
SOUTHWARK AND VAUXHALL WATER.
J. W. Restler, Engineer.
This is a notice (as far as relates to this parish),
of the intention of the company, to construct a new
service reservoir on a part of the Moore Park Estate,
situate between the Honor Oak Road, Forest Hill, and
the London Chatham and Dover Railway (next to
Westhall Road), which property was lately purchased by
Alfred Richards, Esq. The County and Parish Boundaries
of Lewisham and Camberwell form nearly the
centre (longitudinal) line of the reservoir.
The dimensions of the reservoir will be about—
460 feet in length,
320 feet in width.
= About 3½ acres.
This is wholly on private property. No road will be
interfered with. The nearest road (private) being the
present dead end of Westwood Park, at a distance of
about 3 or 4 chains.
The company propose to lay down pipes, purchase
property, &c., &c., in the usual manner and also to take
power to raise capital by Loan, Shares, &c.
I apprehend that the usual clauses which the Metropolitan
Board of Works will insist on will be found
sufficient for the protection of all public rights.
