The horses during the past year have remained
in excellent health, the loss of one only has taken
place, and two inefficient ones were sold.

The cost of fodder, &c., for the above has been £3,000 9s. 6d., equal to nearly 18s. per week, per horse, and the quantity consumed by the above 65 horses during the year 1880-81, was as follows:—

Oats 3½ Bushels, nearly.
The working cost of the "Slopping and Watering"
for the past year, including keep of Horses,
Wages, Wheelwrights, Superintendent, Horsekeeper,
Slop Shoot expenses, Smith's Work, Repairs
to Tools, Farrier's Work, Repairing and Painting
Plant, &c., amounted to £11,940. This sum includes
