OFFICERS.
The Vestry, having received an application from Mr. Foot, a
Sanitary Inspector, on the 16th July increased his Salary to £150,
with additions of £10 per annum till a maximum of £180 be
reached.
INFECTIOUS DISEASES (NOTIFICATION) ACT.
In consequence of the neglect of a Medical Practitioner to notify
promptly two cases of Membranous Croup, the Vestry directed a
summons to be issued and fines were imposed.
A complaint was made of another Practitioner neglecting to send
the particulars required by the Act, and delay in notifying, but
after explanation the Vestry decided to take no further steps in the
case.
During the year £128 15s. Gd. was reoeived from the Metropolitan
Asylums Board for payment of fees to Practitioners.
SATCHWELL'S BENTS.
The extensive destruction of buildings by fire, induced the Vestry
to approach the Owners and Lessees with a view to improving the
street and to opening through communication. There appeared to
be no disposition to treat the matter in such a way as would justify
the Vestry in an expenditure which would largely benefit the
owners of the surrounding land, and the proposal was abandoned.
COLUMBIA ROAD IMPROVEMENTS.
Terms have been agreed with the Guinness Trustees for the
widening of Columbia Road to the extent of the frontage of the
new buildings of the Trustees, by five feet or more in width.
Application has been made to the London County Council to
contribute towards the cost, which will be about £420.
