In addition to the statistics in my original report to the London
County Council, a fresh set bringing the figures up to the end of
the year 1890, was prepared, and for this purpose, I have
carefully examined the mortality returns for the three years
ending December 1890. I find that the number of deaths
amongst the inhabitants of houses included in the Bethnal Green
portion of the area was 633, an average annual mortality for the
three years of 39.34 per thousand persons living. The Zymotic
death rate was 9.88, the Tubercular rate 4.41, the "Low Type"
rate was 4.28, the Respiratory disease rate (exclusive of Phthisis)
