POLIOMYELITIS (Infantile paralysis). One person was admitted to hospital
suspected to be suffering from poliomyelitis, but the diagnosis was not
confirmed.

PUERPERAL PYREXIA Of a total of 39 cases of puerperal Pyrexia 38 were
associated with hospital confinements and one case with a home confinement
only 28 of the total number of cases related to Hackney residents
SCARLET FEVER Notifications of this disease numbered 56 as compared
with 70 in the previous year and 92 in 1961 8 cases were admitted to
hospital
