INFANTILE MORTALITY.
The deaths of 107 children under the age of twelve months were
allocated to Hackney by the Registrar-General during 1946. This
number of deaths gives an infantile mortality rate of 31.19 per 1,000
live births which is considerably lower than any rate previously
recorded in the Borough. The rate for England and Wales was
43 and for London 41.
