Screening of Meat Exposed for Sale.— The screening of meat on
stalls and shops, as far as it can be enforced under the Meat Regulations,
has been on the whole fairly maintained by the shopkeepers.
The stallholders require constant supervision, especially during
their busy periods.
Two summonses were issued for exposing meat to contamination.
The Trader in one case being fined £5 and £2 2s. Od. costs, and in the
other fined £1 and £2 2s. Od. costs.
Two summonses for exposing food to contamination at unsuitable
premises resulted in the payment of £2 2s. Od. costs in each case, and
an undertaking not to use the premises again for food purposes.
One summons was issued for insufficient screening of meat exposed
for sale on a stall—fined 10/-.
Two summonses for contravention of the Ice Cream Regulations
resulted in a fine of 10/- and £1 1s. Od. costs, and a fine of 5/respectively.
One summons for contravention of the London County Council
By-laws— work altered to comply with by-laws and payment of
£110s. Od. costs.
