The following table gives the number of registered births birth-rates, etc., for the Sub-districts in the Borough:—

It will be noticed that the birth-rate is abnormally high in
the Central District compared with other registration Subdistricts.
This is accounted for by reason of 1,293 births occurring
during this year at the Salvation Army Mothers' Hospital,
which Institution is situate in the Central District. Of this
number 889 births are transferable to districts outside Hackney.

and its Sub-Districts during the years 1915-1925, inclusive:—
